Cooking at Caedmon College

We have been fortunate enough to have use of the kitchen facilities at Caedmon College on a Friday afternoon for this half term.
We have been making cheese and tomato pizzas today.
We had lots of fun and really enjoyed tasting them!
Next time we are going to add some extra toppings to our pizzas, but we need to make sure they are healthy as it links in with our topic work!

Blood!

We made some artificial blood today! It was interesting to see all of the different parts that make up the blood. We made some fantastic mind-maps about all of the things we learnt. Have a look:

Dance

As our new topic is 'Blood Heart', we are going to try extra hard this half term to keep healthy. One way we are going to keep healthier is by making an exercise plan, so that we do a little bit more exercise each week than we would normally do. We are going to make sure we do lots of different exercises this half term too. We have been really lucky to have Hannah come into Class 3 on a Wednesday for this half term to teach us some street dancing.

The Heart Dissection

We have started a new topic called Blood Heart! It is very exciting and a little bit gory. To help us understand the different sections of the heart, we dissected a lamb's heart. We drew the heart, then we cut into it to see the blood vessels, left and right atrium and left and right ventricle. We also added water into the various blood vessels at the top of the heart to work out which were to lead to veins and which were to lead to arteries. Most of us really enjoyed touching and cutting the heart. We couldn't believe how hard the fat felt around the heart compared to the muscle!!
